Wind Power

Wind causes a propeller to spin, and an attached generator produces electricity. The amount of electricity generated is proportional to the cube of wind speed. So, if the wind increases by 2, the power generated increases by 8. The bigger the diameter of the propeller, the more power will be generated; and the higher the tower on which the wind turbine is located, the more wind will be intercepted. Wind generators are the perfect complement for solar power, and in windy locations, they can be the primary source of electricity.
